How do I know my windows or doors need replacing?
Common signs are drafts you can feel, fogging between the panes, rotted frames or sills, windows or doors that stick or will not lock, and condensation that keeps coming back. One failed window or door can be swapped out. When several are failing, replacing them together is usually more efficient.
What kinds of doors do you install?
We replace exterior doors, including entry doors, patio and sliding doors, and storm doors. Each one is fitted, sealed and trimmed in its opening, and we go over styles and options with you at the free estimate.
Do I need a permit to replace windows or doors in NJ?
Not when the new window or door goes in the same opening. The NJ Uniform Construction Code treats replacing a window or door in the same opening, without changing its dimensions, as ordinary maintenance. Making an opening larger or adding a new one is different and needs a permit.
How long does window and door replacement take?
Replacement windows in existing openings usually go in quickly, often a few hours per window depending on size and condition. It depends on how many windows and doors you have and whether the frames need repair. We will give you a timeline with your estimate.
Should windows and doors be done with siding?
If you are planning both, it helps to coordinate them. The window and door trim meets the siding, so doing them together gives a cleaner, better-sealed finish.

Can you replace just one window or door?
Yes. We can replace a single window or door, or the whole house.
Do I need a permit to replace windows or doors in NJ?

What time of year is best to replace windows and doors?
Windows and doors can be replaced year-round, since each opening is only open briefly. Spring and fall are the most comfortable.
