What can be power washed?
Siding, decks, fences, walkways, patios and driveways are the usual candidates. Different surfaces need different pressure: siding and soft wood need a gentler approach than concrete, so the method is matched to the material. Washing before a sale, a party or a paint job makes the biggest visible difference.
Should I repair or replace my deck?
Replacing loose boards and railings is a repair. Soft or rotted framing, posts or ledger boards are a bigger job and a safety issue. Under the NJ Uniform Construction Code, repairing a part of a deck that does not support a roof, with similar materials in the same place, is ordinary maintenance. New decks and structural changes need a permit.
Do I need a permit for a new fence in NJ?
Not a construction permit for fences six feet or lower, unless the fence is a pool barrier. Most towns still require a zoning permit and have height limits for front yards, so check with your township first.
Why replace an exterior door?
Drafts, rot at the bottom of the frame, a door that will not latch, or simply a tired entry are the usual reasons. Replacing a door in the same opening is ordinary maintenance under the NJ code and needs no permit.

FAQ
Common questions about exterior services
How much does power washing cost?
It depends on the surfaces, their size and condition, and how much buildup there is. A house wash, a deck and a driveway are each priced differently, so we quote after a quick look. Estimates are free.
Will power washing damage my siding or deck?
Too much pressure can damage siding, soft wood and older surfaces, so the pressure and method have to match the material. Delicate surfaces get a gentler wash than concrete.
Do I need a permit for deck work in NJ?
Repairing parts of a deck that do not hold up a roof, with similar materials in the same place, is ordinary maintenance under the NJ Uniform Construction Code. New decks and structural changes need a permit.
Do I need a permit for a new fence?
Under the NJ code, fences six feet or lower need no construction permit unless they are pool barriers. Most towns still require a zoning permit and limit front-yard heights, so check with your township.
Do I need a permit to replace an exterior door?
Not when the new door goes into the same opening without changing its size. That is ordinary maintenance under the NJ Uniform Construction Code.
Can you bundle exterior work with a roof job?
Yes. Combining services means one company, one schedule and one point of contact. Ask about bundling with your estimate.
What areas do you serve?
Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties, including Jackson, Toms River, Brick, Lakewood, Freehold, Wall and Edison. Call or text 732-584-0700 to check your town.
What warranty do you give?
All In Roofing backs its work with a 10-year workmanship warranty. Manufacturer warranties on materials, such as GAF’s shingle warranties, are separate and depend on the product and how it is installed. We explain both in writing with your estimate.
